A nifty framework for the web designer

This would come in very handy for web designers. It is a bunch of well-pruned CSS files, containing some defaulting styles that websites should employ, at the same time resetting values that browsers set at default. Very useful to kick your site design off with. Appropriately named “Blueprint“. Have a quick look here.

Hello Kevin,
Just came across your blog, You know how hard it is to find a designer’s blog in Singapore.
I think css blueprint has been for a while. But most designers dont really use it. I prefer my own customized Css files for my projects, which includes css reset by Eric Mayer with other custom tags.
I saw your twitter “is singapore facing an industry wide shortage of good web designers?”
As a web designer myself, what i feel is that web designing is a very low paying job in Singapore. Singapore companies are not evolving when it comes brand marketing, and online presence. I am dying to find a good web designing job in Singapore, but the pay is too freaking low.
anyways .. keep posting. nice blog
It is not surprising how many designers out there do not blog. But one that I know since a long long while back, nickpan.com blogs on a regular basis, you should check him out.
SME’s in general, do not perceive the important of approaching their marketing activities in a holistic manner. Perhaps they see marketing as putting an ad in the papers, that’s it. But unfortunately, the way the Internet is quickly evolving, that is not the case any longer.
Bottom line is, you can’t be a B2C / B2B company and not open up a 2way communication channel online.
Nonetheless, the css blueprint is should be a good toolkit for designers who have just begun to understand web standards and cross-browser compatibility. I believe they don’t teach this stuff in schools.
